2010 Drive for Sight Charity Event is a Success!

Thanks to your generous support the very first Drive for Sight event was a tremendous success! We raised over $30,000 to help the Foundation Fighting Blindness support the leading edge retinal research currently underway by Dr. Robert Koenekoop at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Koenekoop is the Principal Investigator and Director of the McGill Ocular Genetics Laboratory and Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology.

Foundation Fighting Blindess (FFB)There is currently groundbreaking and historic research being conducted in Canada with primary financial funding coming from The Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). The FFB is an incredible national organization whose purpose is to raise awareness and provide financial support towards research in fighting vision loss. Your generous support will have immediate and meaningful impact on children like Erick and others like him.

Drive for Sight is an entertaining fundraising event for car enthusiasts interested in getting together with other like minded individuals while supporting the incredible retinal research currently underway at Canadian universities and hospitals across our country. Drive for Sight is day of great people, great cars, a great drive and great food.  A cure for children with genetically inherited blindness is just around the corner.

Drive for Sight Edmonton Scavenger Hunt:

Each team for the Drive for Sight “Scavenger Hunt” will consist of a driver and a navigator. Teams will be provided a map showing where clues will be found. The objective is to collect all of the clues at the end of the hunt. Learn more about the latest Drive for Sight event.

About Erick

Our 6 year old son, Erick, is blind and has been since birth. He was born with a rare inherited retinal condition called Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). Until recently, this prognosis meant a life long sentece to darkness.

There is currently groundbreaking and historic research being conducted in Canada with primary financial funding coming from The Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). The FFB is an incredible national organization whose purpose is to raise awareness and provide financial support towards research in fighting vision loss.
